Investments · GICs
A GIC is a known return in exchange for your money being locked in.
The capital is guaranteed and the return is set in advance. What you give up is access to your money during the term — unless the GIC is redeemable.
What this page covers
- Redeemable or non-redeemable: the rate gap is the price of being able to exit.
- Laddering terms so everything does not mature on the same date.
- Deposit insurance protection, and what it covers per institution.
For information only — not an approval, and not a rate offer. Figures and rates will follow once rate capture is in place.
